How was your experience in buying or Selling a business.
Discussion started by Lee , on 16 November 11:55 PM

As we have just put our business on the market I would be interested to hear from other industry members about their experiences in selling their business. It doesn't happen very often but as our industry matures there will likely be more companies available to be purchased. Making quite a good entry point for new comers looking to get established quickly.

Kite Business FOr Sale

FOR SALE

I have been running Anabatic Kiteboarding here in New Zealand for 10 years or so.
We have decided to whilst still running it advertise our Kitesurfing business for sale.

We are not using a broker but dealing with interested parties directly.
As the exclusive Importer for BEST and CrazyFly in New Zealand this represents and excellent opportunity.

Our company web site is: www.Anabatickiteboarding.com

skype: lee_mcclelland

Has anyone got experiences in this area to share?
Good, bad, ugly? It would make for a great topic of discussion.

Hey Lee, I will say that having had a kite business in africa and selling it and now being the Peter Lynn distributor here in the French West Indies there are pitfalls, as you may guess client relations and brand contacts tend to be the first hit by new management and your name is cast around in vain if these well cemented contacts are not treated with the same respect. Africa tended to have the major players move in like hawks once the word was out that the business was up for sale, got a bit nasty to be honest. In the end it was all irrelavent from my end but the maneouvers were not pleasant at all. The industry revolves around a pretty small market and brands securing their piece of the market share was interesting to watch evolve. Knowing your professionalism you wont have the same petty slander affecting you, as NZers are not like that??!!! Will be in touch to buy your business anyway!! Fred

  • 6 Fantastic photo. Awesome power carve on the wave face. You can see it's windy and blown out for surfing. This is a photo that would make Surfers want to buy a kite to get more waves. Where are you kiting?
